October 1, 2020 - The final Fire Vulnerability Assessment & Emergency Evacuation Preparedness Plan documents are now available, as presented by Category Five Professional Consultants, Inc. and accepted by the MCOG Board of Directors on August 17.

The result of this community planning effort has three parts:  the Fire Vulnerability Assessment, Public Outreach Plan, and Evacuation Plan:

On September 22, the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors received and filed the Wildfire Vulnerability Assessment and Public Outreach Plan for Mendocino County, and adopted the Emergency Evacuation Plan as Annex A to the existing County Emergency Operations Plan.

This regional planning project was originally programmed in MCOG’s FY 2019/20 Overall Work Program and completed in FY 2020/21. Funding was provided by a Caltrans Adaptation Planning Grant of $247,884, matched by MCOG with $32,116 of Local Transportation Funds, for a total of $280,000 ($35,000 MCOG Staff; $245,000 Consultant). Through MCOG's procurement, the contract with Category Five came to $236,140.
