State Route 128 Corridor Valley Trail Feasibility Study

A winding road through a dense forest of tall trees, with sunlight filtering through the leaves, creating a serene atmosphere.
SR 128

This 2014 study, prepared for MCOG and Caltrans, evaluates the feasibility of a multi-use, non-motorized trail along State Route 128 in Mendocino County from the Sonoma/Mendocino county line to the SR 128/SR 1 junction near the coast. Developed with extensive community input, it recommends a mix of trails, bike paths, sidewalks, and crossing and safety improvements across five corridor segments, organized into short-, mid-, and long-range project lists with cost estimates to guide future funding, design, and construction. The Study was funded through a Caltrans Community-Based Transportation Planning Grant and local match from MCOG.
